Our ‘Ajike’ baby baskets are uniquely crafted by talented in artist from Bolgatanga in the upper east region of Ghana. Each of our baskets are environmentally friendly and unique work of art, using techniques passed down from generation. Made from durable 100% naturally harvested elephant grass and hand dyed with natural dyes. For durability, the handles are wrapped with leather. 
These baskets can be used from birth till 9kg/15Ib, or when baby can sit up.
Our ethically sourced items both support fair trade and contributes 7.5% of each basket purchased to Sickle Strong Warriors Foundation Ghana.
Unlike some of the other bolga baskets on the market made from seagrass, elephant grass is durable, sturdy and long lasting.

RESHAPING:
Baskets may arrive misshapen through mailing process; it can be easily reshaped by running it under water, shape and leave to air dry. The baskets may have extra straws sticking out, please trim with scissors.
 
MATTRESS:
Safety standards: Breathable, water repellent and non-allergenic mattress made in Compliance with UK Health & Safety Standards
Tested to British Standard BS 1877, Part 10: 1997 British Standard BS 7177, 1996 (Low Hazard Domestic Use) 
Textile Product Care: Removable cover for separate cleaning. Use Non-Biological Detergent (Liquids) and machine wash as delicate (40 Degrees max)

•    Mattress foam can be quickly cleaned with clean damp cloth. 
•    Please allow the mattress to dry fully before re-use.
•    For extra durability and comfort air the mattress and turn the mattress frequently.
 
SAFETY
•    Recommended for babies from birth till 9kg/15 lb and or when a baby can sit up.
•    It is recommended to place the handles of the basket in an outward position when the baby is inside.
•    Do not move or carry the basket with your baby inside
•    Do not allow pets or other children to climb into the basket while your baby is inside.
•    Avoid the use of plastic bags inside the basket.
•    Do not leave infant unattended.
•    Keep basket away from all heaters, fires/ flames or stoves, fireplaces, campfires, open windows, water (running or standing), stairs, window blinds and any other hazards which can cause injury.
•    Do not use the basket if it is damaged or broken.
