Our ‘Abeke’ baby baskets are uniquely crafted by talented artist from Bolgatanga in the upper east region of Ghana. Each of our baskets are environmentally friendly and unique work of art, using techniques passed down from generation. Made from durable 100% naturally harvested elephant grass and hand dyed with natural dyes. For durability, the handles are wrapped with leather. 

These Bolga Changing baskets can be used from birth till 9kg/15Ib, or when baby can sit up.
Our ethically sourced items both support fair trade and contributes 5% of each basket purchased to Sickle Strong Warriors Foundation Ghana.
 
Suitable for newborns under 9kg, who cannot sit unaided or roll over. Because of its uniqueness, each basket itself will vary in sizes, approximately between 74-76cm length and 40-42cm width. 
The versatility of these African basket is what makes it an amazing buy, from being your babies favourite changing basket, to being a storage for toys and a beautiful keepsake. 
 
SAFETY
•    These baskets are shallower than our Moses baskets and are not recommended for babies to sleep in.
•    Do not carry baby in them and use on a flat stable surface for full safety.
•    This product is only suitable for a child who cannot sit up unaided, roll over and cannot push itself up on its hands and knees. 
•    Maximum weight of the child must be 9 kg.
•    Never leave the baby unattended in the basket.

RESHAPING
Baskets may arrive misshapen through mailing process; it can be easily reshaped by running it under water, shape and leave to air dry. The baskets may have extra straws sticking out, please trim with scissors.

Soft and lightly padded, this Organic Cotton Liner fits perfectly in our Changing Baskets. Each liner is water repellant. Use them in conjunction with our changing baskets or roll them up and take them with you as a portable changing mat.
